Torremolinos Skate Plaza represents far more than just a new sports facility; it is a dream came true shared by skateboarding  community in Torremolinos and Málaga. It is born from the experience of those who grew up skating on the streets—back when there were no skateparks or purpose-built spaces.

Málaga already boasts excellent facilities, particularly “Park” skateparks. This Skate Plaza does not aim to compete with them, but rather to complement and enrich local landscape with a distinct and necessary space within skate culture.

The concept was to capture the essence of street skating: recreating real urban elements that foster creativity, allowing every skater to interpret the space in their own way, carve out their own lines, and continue to evolve.

This philosophy is reflected in the design, which revives and reinterprets legendary Málaga spots that have disappeared, while also incorporating nods to iconic locations in Madrid, Barcelona, ​​and around the world. These small tributes transform the plaza into something more than just a series of obstacles; it is a space where every line is imbued with references, memories, history, and skate culture.

The project also features a surfskate “wave ramp” for another major Torremolinos community: the surfers. It serves as a meeting point for skating, surfing, and surfskating. Disciplines that are deeply interconnected with one another and with the Málaga coast.

This Skate Plaza is a tribute to a generation of skaters who learned to ride by adapting to the urban environment and who now see that essence finally transformed into a dedicated space for street skateboarding. It is also a place for new generations. A meeting point for different styles and disciplines, conceived by the community for the community.
