LA NUCIA SKATEPARK OPENING

This afternoon the new Skate Park of the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano was inaugurated. During the event there was an exhibition by Julia Benedetti and Ceci Rendueles, skaters from the Spanish National Team, as well as several athletes from the La Nucía Skate Park Club. Starting today, this “long-awaited” new facility at the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano opens its doors.

This sports facility of more than 3,000 square meters consists of a large competition bowl and an initiation area in this sport. The new Skatepark is located next to the indoor soccer field and the Onosca restaurant, in the Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano and has involved an investment of 400,000 euros by the La Nucía City Council.

Councilors Mª Jesús Jumilla, Jessica Gommans, Gemma Márquez, Beatriz Pérez-Hickman, Serafín López and Pepe Cano were also present.

This new Skatepark is approved by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation and has the necessary dimensions to host national and international competitions. In fact, during its trial period it has hosted concentration stages for the Spanish Skate Team, to prepare the pre-Olympics for Paris 2024, since skateboarding will be Olympic at the Paris 2024 Games this summer.

Approved internationally.

This new Skatepark is approved by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation and has the necessary dimensions to host national and international competitions. A space has even been reserved to locate telescopic stands for sporting events.

In fact, this new Nuciera sports facility is a national training center for the Spanish Skate Park team, which prepares its future international competitions in the Park, including the imminent Paris Olympic Games, where skateboarding is an Olympic sport. Thanks to the agreement signed by the Royal Spanish Skating Federation and the La Nucía City Council at the COE.

This new skatepark in La Nucía is one of the most complete in Spain and will have several levels.

The “initiation” area has a flat track for learning: miniramp, manual Pad, Flat Pad, Bumpy, Hubba and Handrail. The big bowl, “Park” area, will feature deepend, funbox, death box, extension, rail, wallride and extension.

Schedule

The hours of the new Skate Park in La Nucía will be Monday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Access will be free and open, but you will have to comply with and respect the rules that are specified on various signs at the entrance to the sports venue, such as wearing a helmet, protections…etc. Just as minors must always be accompanied. The entry of animals and pets is prohibited. The SkatePark can only be used with skateboards (skateborads), roller skates (roller skates), scooters (scooters) or bmx bikes. It is prohibited to use it with motor scooters or any motor vehicle.
